Progress Chapter 7 ‘Every Saint Has A Past, Every Sinner Has A Future’ Preview by Charman Morris

ProgressLogo

Off we go to a sold out Garage in Highbury & Islington. With Chapter 6, headlined by Ligero vs. Ricochet still firmly imprinted on my brain we move forward to Chapter 7, which looks to be yet another incredible show.

SinggGarnell
RJ SINGH vs. DANNY GARNELL

A first time ever match-up between these pair, which is amazing considering how long they have been wrestling in the same circles for. Also with Darrell Allen being in tag teams with both guys (in the Bhangra Knights, and Progress named Bastard Squad respectively) who is he rooting for? This is going to be an interesting one. Both are very technical guys, RJ can do comedy also while Danny is a big hard hitter who can pull out some moves! Garnell and Singh are both very successful at Progress in both singles and tag matches, Garnell beating Stixx at Chapter 5, and RJ last beating Paul Robinson at Chapter 4. These two will no doubt put on a really good spectacle, but who to root for? That is the question!!

AndrewsOspreay
MARK ANDREWS vs. WILL OSPREAY

Who thought we’d be seeing these two go head to head at Progress again? Do you think they’ll be able to top their Match Of The Night showing at Chapter 4? How about adding a couple of stipulations to make it a bit more interesting? So Will put up a video saying he wanted Mark Andrews to put his semi-final Natural Progression Series spot on the line in this rematch. Mark Andrews countering with the request that Will Ospreay puts his Progress roster spot up aswell!! So the stakes are high in this one! I don’t want to go on about how amazing their Chapter 4 match was, you’ve seen the DVD, watched the standing ovation. It was incredible. But this one has some added gravitas, how can it be topped?! We shall just have to wait and see…

DARRELL ALLEN vs. EDDIE DENNIS vs. XANDER COOPER vs. JOEY LAKESIDE

Four Way Elimination match in the Natural Progression Series

This big story in this match is that the first graduate of the ProJo, Joey Lakeside makes his debut on a Progress show. So Lakeside, who models himself on TOWIE’s Joey Essex, goes by the mantra Tan Fight Win, makes his debut. Knowing that, we can anticipate how he will be received by the Progress crowd!! Xander Cooper, former BWC Scholar champion makes his long awaited return to Progress, last being seen at Chapter 3 vs. Mark Andrews, Eddie Dennis, made his debut at Chapter 6 teaming with Mark Andrews to go up against Bhangra Knights, who Darrell Allen is part of. Talk about 3 Degrees of Separation!! A lot of different styles in there, along with the unknown entity of Lakeside makes for a very intriguing contest indeed…

HavocSaberJr
JIMMY HAVOC vs. ZACK SABRE JR

It’s no secret that Jimmy is well loved by the Progress faithful. It’s also no secret he’s on a losing streak. However he went to Progress Management and said he didn’t want be given an easy match for a win, he wanted to go against the best. And what better wrestler can you go up against other than Zack Sabre Jr? I know right? Jimmy and Zack do know each other very well, they are great friends. But they won’t be taking it easy on each other. Zack has said that he’s been practising some new submission moves for this match, to which Jimmy replied ‘Good, looking forward to that’. Don’t be fooled by Jimmy though. He is a very technically sound wrestler, and has also improved greatly in the past couple of years. Another solid and enjoyable match anticipated. Just watch out for those kicks!

 RiotsEgo
LONDON RIOTS vs. PROJECT EGO

The London Riots always say ‘Don’t send someone over you want back’ and they surely must be vastly unimpressed that Progress management have sent the highly popular and talented team of Kris Travis & Martin Kirby, Project Ego. They are British Tag Team Champions, nationally recognised, and can give as good as they get (in Travis’ case more, if the recent Twitter baiting of Kevin Steen and Rob Lynch are anything to go by). But anyway, London Riots are undefeated and must be feeling some pressure, and Project Ego are looking to make an impact on their Progress debut. It could be technical, it could be brutal, it could be comedic, but no matter what happens, you will know that you are sitting watching two of the country’s finest and will be in for a treat regardless.
ScrewRampageRobinsonScurll
NATHAN CRUZ & MARK HASKINS & MYSTERY PARTNER vs. PARTY MARTY SCURLL & PAUL ROBINSON & RAMPAGE BROWN

Mark Haskins makes his debut at Progress teaming up with his Screw Indy Wrestling compadre Nathan Cruz, and a currently unnamed mystery partner (let’s speculate shall we?) going up against Marty Scurll, Rampage Brown and Paul Robinson. And as if that isn’t enough, the person that gets the pin gets a title shot at Chapter 8!! What the hell!?! Cruz feels entitled to a rematch (Progress do not have this in the rule book), and it’s no secret he has issues with Marty, he’s beaten Rampage at Chapter 5, and he probably doesn’t see Paul Robinson as a threat at all. Haskins will have issues with anyone crossing his path. And as for the other guys, they all want a title shot. Paul Robinson beat MK McKinnan at Chapter 6 in an incredible match and Rampage will also be feeling confident. Marty is as Marty does, and will be going straight for Cruz. And who is this mystery partner? A true meaning of the word Pro I understand. Let battle commence!!

 DarLigero
EL LIGERO vs. NOAM DAR – PROGRESS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE MATCH

And finally we get to the main event. Ligero has been a fighting champion, and his title defences vs. Dave Mastiff and Ricochet are great testimonials of those. And the first match of Progress was Ligero vs. Dar at Chapter 1, which Ligero won. So Noam has a bit in his teeth about this, as it has been his only defeat in Progress Wrestling. Noam has regularly talked about deserving the ‘Big Stick’ based on his past victories, and we cannot argue, since he beat Dave Mastiff to get this title shot. So it’s quite the grudge match. There are also an increasing number of Noam Dar fans coming out of Progress, so the audience could be pretty even for this Championship match. This will no doubt make for a more incredible atmosphere than usual. I cannot wait….

So with a few debuts, first time matches and some long standing feuds coming to a head, what else can Progress deliver for us this time? We will just have to go to the bar, get settled in our seat and get shouting. It’s going to be awesome.
